Dale and Jeanette Franks

Dale and Jeanette Franks were classmates during their college days at Southwestern University in Waxahachie, Texas. At the conclusion of their college careers, their lives went in different directions, and they lost contact with one another. In December, 2002, an email prayer request went out to a group of college classmates requesting prayer for Dale, who had been diagnosed with recurrent lymphoma. Jeanette, a breast cancer survivor, responded to the prayer request, emailing Dale with words of encouragement to let him know there is “life after cancer”.

In March, 2003, Jeanette and the college friend who had sent the email prayer request stopped in Albuquerque to check on Dale and see how his cancer treatment was progressing. The trio met at a local restaurant for dinner and after dinner went to Dale’s house to visit. The visit piqued Dale and Jeanette’s interest in one another, and they were married in July, 2003.

Jeanette, a school teacher who taught culinary arts at Northeastern Technical Center in Afton, Oklahoma, for a number of years, recently retired. Prior to her marriage and move to Albuquerque, she was the pianist for the Cayuga Mission, a congregation that met in a historic church building overlooking Grand Lake near Grove, Oklahoma. Currently, she is active in the Women of God, a trans-denominational women’s fellowship in Albuquerque, where she serves as part of the prayer team and as a table hostess for the group’s meetings. She is a vocal soloist and occasionally ministers from the pulpit.

Dale, who prefers ministry from the perspective of a biblical “tentmaker”, is a database administrator for an information technology (IT) firm that provides IT services to business and governmental entities. In the past, he served as senior pastor for congregations in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Reno, Nevada, and Santa Rosa, California. He held over 250 evangelistic crusades in the western United States, Canada and Mexico, and served for three years as the campus ministries director for the state of New Mexico for a major church denomination. Dale plays piano, keyboard, guitar and electric bass and often sings solos or duets with his wife, Jeanette, during services they conduct.
