The Soldier's Psalm
Scripture: Psalm 91
Introduction
This Psalm has been described as the soldier's Psalm. In 2 Timothy 2:3, Paul tells us to endure hardship as good soldiers.
I. The soldier's position vv. 1-4
2 Timothy 2:3-4 NIV Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs -- he wants to please his commanding officer.

II. The soldier's protection vv. 5-13
2 Corinthians 10:4-5 KJV The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Ephesians 6:13-14 NIV For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground....
