Even There
Scripture: Psalm 139:9-16
Psalms 139:9-10 (NKJV) If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, {10} Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. {11} If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," Even the night shall be light about me; {12} Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You. {13} For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. {14} I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. {15} My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. {16} Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them.
Introduction
I was two months past my 35th birthday that Sunday morning. I had risen before dawn to prepare for the day. In a voice so quiet that, had it not been so early in the morning, I would have missed it, the Lord spoke to me and said, "Dale, some things are going to change in your life, but I'll be with you. Casually I replied, Okay, Lord. The migraine headache that hit me later that day lasted for 30 days.
In a desperate attempt to find relief from the pain, I went to a chiropractor. He adjusted my low back, then my upper back. But when he adjusted my neck, I suddenly realized that my right arm and leg were now dangling limply at my side. I could not use them. Within minutes I lost the vision in my right eye. For almost three hours I lay there thinking "What's going on? What's happening to me?" All the while the excruciating pain in my head continued unabated.
